The Anishinabe Spiritual Centre is a beautiful retreat space and conference centre set along the shores of Anderson Lake. It is a gathering place where reflection, learning, and community come together.
Since 1981, the Centre has welcomed Indigenous and non-Indigenous visitors alike to deepen their spirituality, pause for reflection and reconnect with the land. Over time, it has become a place where people come together to learn and share in experiences rooted in both Anishinabe teachings and the Catholic faith.
Timber-frame and log buildings offer comfortable, rustic accommodations in a natural setting. Cottages are nestled among the trees at the water’s edge, while the main lodge provides space for gathering, dining, prayer and reflection. The surrounding landscape forms an essential part of the experience.
At the Centre, Anishinabe teachings and Catholic tradition exist side by side creating a space reflection and reconciliation. Whether you are seeking a guided retreat, planning to attend a workshop or group gathering or simply looking to reconnect, the Centre offers an opportunity to step back with self, with others, and with creation.
Guided by this spirit, the Centre’s vision and mission speak to its deeper purpose:
Our Vision
Wasse’aandimikaning – a place of enlightenment and spiritual nourishment, growth and healing.
Our Mission
Wasse’aandimikaning provides the opportunities to find the creator within self, others and all creation as guided and inspired by our ancestors, elders and Jesuit tradition.
